Standard Installation Procedures
Quality Assurance
We conceal all wiring and sensors whenever possible and, most importantly, the entire alarm's circuitry is fully "supervised" which prevents circumvention and makes the system fail safe. In other words, the alarm system monitors itself and immediately notifies the central station if it senses that someone has tampered with the wiring of the system.
All of our circuitry includes the highest quality stranded, copper-jacketed wire with all connections hot soldered for longer life and system reliability.
We carry $3 million per occurrence of special liability insurance for our customers' protection.
All our employees undergo police background investigations and are fully insured and bonded.
We provide 24-hour service.

We tailor your alarm system to meet your exact needs giving you peace of mind. As an example, consider the installation we did for Frank W. Kerr Corporation:
Never judge a book by its cover. That lesson definitely applies to the combination burglary/fire system installed at the F. W. Kerr Co. warehouse in Novi, Michigan, just outside Detroit.
From the exterior, the single-building warehouse looks like it would be a routine job for any installation technician. But as Scott Grougan, lead technician for Vigilante Security Inc. in Lathrup Village, Michigan, found out, the job was far from routine.
The interior of the 305,000-square-foot facility houses a wide range of health and beauty aids for distribution to stores; everything from sunglasses to toilet paper to products requiring top-level security are stored under one roof. The diversity of the products requires an alarm system of varying security levels to secure the inventory. Moreover, the facility is open 24 hours per day to accommodate deliveries.
Grougan used his ingenuity to design and install a system based on two separate panels with 179 points of protection, including burglary, fire, temperature, and supervisory monitoring. The resulting “labor of love” took 11 weeks to install, used 11,000 feet of wiring, includes 13 separate partitions covering 33 offices, has multiple storage areas secured by a 40-foot-high chain-link fence, a vault and even a refrigeration unit.
13 Partitioned Areas Require Varying Security Levels
“I love this job. Jobs like this are fun,” says Grougan, who has been with Vigilante Security for two-and-one-half years. Previously, F. W. Kerr Company’s warehouse had a 20-year-old alarm system. Because of the range of products, about 15 partitioned areas needed UL Grade AA protection, while other parts didn't need security at all. The entire burglary system was put out for bid, and Vigilante Security got the job.
“Age had taken over, and they were having chronic false alarm problems. The owners wanted to refresh the security and re-think the type of protection for many of the areas,” says Grougan.
The existing system had 15 separate alarm systems for each of the 15 partitioned areas. Most of the partitioned areas have a chain-link fence surrounding them. The fence reaches as high as the ceiling, which is 44 feet at one point.
“At some point in the building, partitions would cross. That’s where the old system would get hairy,” recalls Grougan.
The new system had too many alarm points to be supported by just one panel, so Grougan installed two Bosch control panels. Because parts of the building are open 24 hours per day, Grougan had to set up each partition, one at a time.
“Programming and getting all the logistics down was challenging and fun,” he says in retrospect. “As I took something down, I had to replace it. The new system had to be completely wired and in place prior to taking down the old system in that area. I would go to an area, wire it, trim it with new devices, test it and take the old system out. I did that one partition at a time.
“That sequence meant that the customer had to be thoroughly trained on the use and operation of the system prior to me ever turning over a partition to him. We couldn’t leave any holes in the system while it was being installed,” he says.
For example, one corridor is covered by the office system. The doors on the right are covered by a storage partition, while the doors on the left lead outside and are part of a 24-hour perimeter partition. Grougan also had to work closely with the old alarm company to make sure the proper systems stayed on line during the installation.
“The entire job took me 11 weeks single-handed,” says Grougan. He only had help on some days when he was doing 40-foot wire runs.
